Can Work have Purpose

Can daily work be something more? Life is about perspective. If you focus on "the Work" all you will see is "The Work". If you focus on the what fill your heart with joy in while you work you will unlock something most miss. "Life" We did an experiment in our office to see if it was possible to unlock purpose at work. Many thought this experiment was progressive at the least. Each week we had a lesson on leadership, mentorship, and "purpose". We also gave each employee the opportunity to volunteer in social project of their choosing. We found that the employees would use the lessons and mentorship to impact the social project. We also found that skills learned on the job helped the employees fund the projects. They tied their work to their passion in more ways than we thought. "Work" became an exploration of passion and talent. So why did such a simple experiment make such a big impact. First, investing in employees gives them worth and confidence to grow in skills and passions. Second, and most important, When you use what you learn it has a greater impact on you personally. By giving each employee a way to lead and use the skills of leadership and purpose they learned by incorporated mind, and soul through helping others. Lessons learned in this way tend to stick with us for a lifetime and change our perspective. How will you change your Perspective?
